The Stress Stop will be hosting the NAMI Family Support Group Meetings on the first Wednesday of
every month. These Free Peer-led Support Group Meetings will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm starting on May
3rd.

Your first step starts here, at The Stress Stop! The Getting Back In Shape Series, will include; a wellness assessment with John Hernandez of “Fitness Together”, a movement class with renowned dance instructor, Elbert Watson, and massage therapy with Shawnte Peterson.

Elbert Watson

Elbert WatsonFormer principal dancer with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Founder of The Elbert Watson Dance Company, and the Tidewater Dance Collective. He is currently the Ballet Master at the Norfolk Academy, where he teaches ballet, pointe, jazz, and contemporary dance. There, he also teaches community adult classes, for wellness movement

John Hernandez:

John HernandezFormer military fitness trainer, nutrition specialist, CPR instructor. Eventually taking over the United States Navy Fitness Program. Degreed in Terrorism/Anti-Terrorism from Tidewater Community College. Currently, he is the owner/operator of Fitness Together, offering customized fitness programs, continuing to help people reach their goals.

Shawnte Peterson:

 Shawnte PetersonOwner of ShawnesHands LLC, A Wellness Company, and instructor at Centura College. She specializes in; reflexology, prenatal, lymphatic drainage massage, advanced deep tissue modalities, and massage for the athlete. She is a nationally certified, state licensed massage therapist, exercise physiologist with a passion for living well.

Your journey will begin with your personal fitness assessment; measuring height, weight, body composition, blood pressure, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility. Followed by an infused movement routine, tailored just for you! Next, you can unwind with an exclusive massage therapy session. Space is limited to keep it a personal and relaxed environment.
